A well-child exam includes the following:

  • A comprehensive physical exam
  • Immunizations
  • Assessment of your child’s development and behavior
  • Education on nutrition, physical fitness, and injury prevention
  • Age-appropriate hearing and vision checks

The schedule for well-child exams:

  • Newborn visit (2-3 days after discharge from the hospital)
  • 1 month
  • 2 months
  • 4 months
  • 6 months
  • 9 months
  • 12 months (1 year)
  • 15 months
  • 18 months
  • 24 months (2 year)
  • 30 months (2 ½ year)
  • 3 year+ -- then once annually
